Adieu Pa Tamfu The Great!
Lilian Yengi Dr April 3, 2012
Pa Tamfu, to many a Wimbum child, you were just that; Pa, uncle, grandpa. But you were also an institution; hard to imagine not to be here one day. However, we also knew that, that day will come, as it sure comes to us all. So we do not mourn but celebrate a richly lived and inpactful life. Go thee in peace Pa to meet your peers who went before you. To sister Patience, brother Edward and the rest of the immediate family, I join you to celebrate Pa's life and pray that you find confort in the fact that his legacy lives on. RIP Pa.

Adele Effa Condolences from Brothers of Wimbum Community April 1, 2012
Dear brothers and sisters,

We are saddened to learn of the passing away of the Honorable Samuel Ngeh Tamfu. We send out condolences to Ma Yaah Patience Tamfu of Baltimore,
Emmanuel Tamfu of Dallas, Dr. Edward Tamfu of Maryland, and the entire Tamfu family at Taku and abroad.

“Pa Tamfu” as he was affectionately called leaves a strong legacy service to Cameroon that will be difficult to fill. He has served Cameroon in various
capacities; most notably as minister and long time Member of Parliament, the Political Bureau and Central Committee of the CMDM Party. He was
one of the early leaders in the Wimbum Community who took up politics as an art that called for dedication to the good will of the political community.
In addition to the many accomplishments, most people remember his negotiation skills which he deployed in a parliamentary procedure in the National
Assembly that enabled the CPDM party negotiate and form a coalition with MDR Party to form a parliamentary majority in 1992.

Pa Tamfu was known as a candid individual who did not cover up issues to please people. Our late brother and brother in-law Abel Bongmba, District
Chairperson of the Social Democratic Front in Nkambe had a high regard for Pa Tamfu because as a politician one always knew where Pa Tamfu stood
on the issues. We will leave his numerous accomplishments for others to mention, but we should note that when Hon. Tamfu returned to Parliament again
he took a visionary perspective for the people of his constituency. He championed the cause of a new province to be headquartered in Donga Mantung
Division. This is a vision that all sons and daughters of Donga Mantung should pursue regardless of their political affiliation. Such a development would
bring economic development to a much-neglected part of the country. Additionally, it will boost our trade with neighboring Nigeria since we share an extensive
border. The realization of such a project would be a crowning event to the initiative of Hon. Tamfu. As the Wimbum community and members of Donga Mantung
Division, we are living through a major transition in our lives with passing away of leaders like Hon. Tamfu. The challenge for all of us is to take the mantle and
follow the example of service set by these heroes. We join all sons and daughters of the Wimbum Community in saying goodbye to a hero and pray that
God will raise up a new generation of leaders that will work for the interests of our communities as Pa did. We extend our condolences to his family.

Sincerely,

MARA,StatesvilleNC CONDOLENCES FOR THE FAMILY March 29, 2012

WHEN A LOVED ONE DIES

Have you lost a loved one in death? The pain, the grief, and the feelings of helplessness can seem unbearable. At such times, we need to go to God’s Word for comfort. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4) The Bible helps us to understand how Jehovah and Jesus feel about death. Jesus, who perfectly reflected his Father, knew the pain of losing someone in death. (John 14:9) When he was in Jerusalem, Jesus used to visit Lazarus and his sisters, Mary and Martha, who lived in the nearby town of Bethany. They became close friends. The Bible says: “Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.” (John 11:5) As we learned in the preceding chapter, though, Lazarus died.

How did Jesus feel about losing his friend? The account tells us that Jesus joined Lazarus’ relatives and friends as they grieved over this loss. Seeing them, Jesus was deeply moved. He “groaned in the spirit and became troubled.” Then, the account says, “Jesus gave way to tears.” (John 11:3335) Did Jesus’ grief mean that he had no hope? Not at all. In fact, Jesus knew that something wonderful was about to happen. (John 11:3, 4) Still, he felt the pain and sorrow that death brings.

In a way, Jesus’ grief is encouraging to us. It teaches us that Jesus and his Father, Jehovah, hate death. But Jehovah God is able to fight and overcome that enemy! Let us see what God enabled Jesus to do.
